Beth Budwig's Resume

Designer at VoodooVox

September 2005 – present

I work with the executive team and tech, serving as user advocate, visual designer, and hand-coder of HTML & CSS; I design all our various sites, web apps, flash widgets, demos, and marketing efforts. I worked with the company in 2001, when it was producing listener line tools for radio stations. Now that's just one of our products, all of which use our technology to allow our corporate customers to monetize their phonelines.

Designer at Lotus Interworks

June 2005 – September 2005

Lotus Interworks is the parent company of Alacre, where I'd been working for the prior five months; in my time at Lotus/Alacre, I started as a game tester and eventually became the de facto art director, working directly with the CEO to lead a 4-person art team.

Quality Assurance Lead at Alacre

February 2005 – June 2005

Alacre ports mobile games to a variety of cell phones; the company does both in-house development and testing of many builds of the same game, specializing in porting to older phone models.

Book & Media Buyer at Grand Opening!

April 2004 - February 2005

Grand Opening! LA was a women-owned and -operated sex shop, a sister store to the flagship in Boston; we provided a safe space for buying adult books, media, and sex toys. We also hosted workshops and taught classes.

Student Media Consultant at Williams College

September 2002 - June 2003

While a student at Williams, I worked in the Faculty Media Lab, doing a variety of training and logistical tasks. I reported to the head of technology, and assisted both her and all visitors to the lab. I spent most of my time learning about new software and hardware so that I could teach others to use it.

Designer at RadioVoodoo

May 2001 - September 2002

My internship at this start-up turned into a full-time job - I took a year off of college to work for RadioVoodoo. At the time, the company's sole focus was making listener lines for radio stations. There are two components to a listener line: the VoiceXML-powered phoneline itself and the web interface which allows a station to customize its prompts, download callers' messages, and view request information.

Williams College

B.A. in Fine Art, 2003

My focus in college was painting and drawing, but I also loved my language, computer science, philosophy, and music classes.
